April Fools', 2008: A Gift In Lieu Of A Gag
If I Were A Birdcage...
If I Were A Birdcage...
At least I'd have 'The Kitch' to keep me company!

(Though I've got a pretty decent hunch she'd prefer to be let go....)

I'm always in awe when people are able to render astounding creations by
pencil, acrylic, metal, clay

or

even and especially
graphic wizardry.

I don't always succeed,
but the emotional impact I get from something like this image

(Courtesy of
THE GLAMOUR ROCK KID
from the band
THE KIDS,
thankyou
thankyouthankyou)

the sensory details it evokes: the ringing in my ears
out of habit, as if suddenly I'm in an airplane

thoughts of
how it'd feel to wriggle
unfettered
from the grasp of gravity,

what the air tastes like at 20,000 feet,

do the gorgeous nuclear hues of sunlight
beget a bouquet of decay

as they sizzle through the smog
spread out across L.A.
like a tattered afghan?

[the untangible made tangible]

whenever people ask me
"Why do you write?"

I wish I could answer in hieroglyphics:

there are words to grasp,
syl-la-bles I could rearrange to form an answer

but all that would be are words
explaining words
explaining words

Visual art speaks a universal language

one that has no need for tongue

Wow, that was beyond gorgeous. Those words that you wrote. Awesome. Again...wow. But you're so right about visuals being more beautiful and more powerful than just written words. Especially when you have trouble describing things. I'm thinking of becoming a photographer and I was thinking along with doing the norm of photography such as: weddings, engagements, birthday's and babies, that I could do something different as well.

For instance if someone's feeling a certain way and they just want to remember that moment in time forever: I could come over and capture that emotion. Whether it be laughter or some kind of pain that they're going through that gets magnified through a lens. Though I find that the emotion of pain to be much more interesting to capture. There is beauty in pain. In suffering. At least in my opinion. And it would be great to capture that emotion and look at it whenever you want. I don't know if people would go for my idea, but you can always try and see how it goes.

Awesome shot of you and Audrey. Very original. I wouldn't have thought up something like that, so props to the art director who came up with the concept.

I love the passion that you evoke within your writing. I wish I had that passion. I wish I could feel it. I love to write. Though I don't do it well, I wish I had that passion within myself to make better descriptions (instead of all of this numbness).

Interesting that you'd love to respond in hieroglyphics. I guess we all have our preference. Yes... we do.

"Night. Or should I say morning." ;o)

As my adorable Friedrich Nietzche said:There is one thing one has to have: either a soul that is cheerful by nature, or a soul made cheerful by work, love, art, and knowledge.

Dear Mr. Clint Catalyst,

ERIS STARtle has asked me to inform you, that he is mad at you. He wishes to know why he has yet to hear anything from you in over a week and wishes that you could see him graduate and would love some type of word from you before then.

But within that- maybe, if you hadn't turned around those five years of duck and cover everytime you heard/saw something click/flash then the subscriptions that your stashing up might not be coming so thick and fast?- Don't worry, I'm not saying that without the pictures that you havn't got a talent for writing- it's just there are far too many people out there who read books to look at the pictures (!)...and I don't believe in coincidences.

Not to mention, I can't remember where I read it- but it stuck with me- they say good models arn't perfectly aligned and asthetic. A good model is the person that walks into the room and has the attention of everyone in there- they're not attractive, just some sort of aura around them is fascinating. It sounds subjective but I know it's true, I've witnessed it. Ha. Which is also completely a normative statement, and you could write that off as irrelevent but never the less.

And yeah baby. Great Britain born and bread. How could you tell? Bar the cussing every other word and the use of 'git' (!)

^-.-^ xxxxx

You of all people should know. heartfelt comments such as the one i sent you are all inspired by the fond feelings for the person the comment has been left for.
I didnt even have to think about a thing when i typed those words, I just had to read and let my heart take control.

Oh and yeah, I'm the eldest son in a 7 kid family, so i do very well understand what you where saying in the comment you left me.
Anyway Clint,
I don't really need to tell you this but I will anyway.
Chin up, and, mister solo critter, I'm part of and over populated pack.
we can quite easily balance eachother out.
One more thing.
Guess who is at the top of my top friends?
Thats right! It's you.
The great Double C

You know, dear, everyone is entitled to their opinion. doesn't, however, make it correct, factual, etc. I dare say that someone either doesn't have the ability to deal with your talent, which is sad, or they're jealous, which is more sad. If all they have room for in their space is bitterness, let them have it.
Those of us who admire your creativity and can't wait to see what thrilling thing you'll participate in next are the ones who are lucky. Lucky to be aware of your talent and to enjoy it with you.
May 13, 2008 9:15 AM
And I'M lucky to have individuals like you in my life who exert the time and energy to be supportive. // I only wish I were able to respond to whomever it is that sent this missive... // Why does uber have guests enter their email addresses if I'm unable to click 'Reply' and uh, EMAIL THEM? // One of the great unanswered mysteries of the universe... // I mean, halt all research on terminal illnessness, like, PRONTO! // As a self-centered egotistical over-privileged American it is my God Given Right to Have It My Way Or Not Way... // Come on, tech-heads: am I right, or am I RIGHT?
May 14, 2008 8:00 PM
god, you are SO very right. lol
